In my opinion, this season of South Park has been tremendous, I’ve read some reviews of some of the episodes that weren’t very good, but I completely disagree with them. The streak of great episodes continued this week with “You Have 0 Friends,” which maybe the best episode of the season so far. The main focus of the episode was on something that I particularly dislike, Facebook. In the episode, Kenny, Kyle, and Cartman make Stan a Facebook profile against his will and he becomes embroiled and frustrated with everyone asking him for friend requests. In addition to parodying Facebook, they also parodied CNBC’s Mad Money and Chatroulette and Tron.
Some of the best parts of the episode included: the skewering of older people who get on Facebook, the lonely kid Kip Drordy who had 0 friends, Cartman’s Mad Money show, Mad Friends, and Chatroullette, which is just a bunch of guys masturbating. The parts when Stan’s dad gets angry that he didn’t make him a friend or make his grandmother friend on Facebook is so hilarious. Also, the parts with Kip Drordy were both hilarious and so depressing at the same time. It was good to see the episode have a happy ending, it was a nice change.
That’s it for this week, check back here next week as South Park has its 200th episode.
