Well, it was a trip done memory lane on this week’s episode of South Park titled “200.” This week saw the return of such celebrity characters as: Tom Cruise, Bono, Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton, Mickey Mouse, and Stephen Spielberg. In the episode, all the celebrities who have been mocked by South Park residents in the past plan to file a class action lawsuit against the town. Tom Cruise promises to end the lawsuit if the town can produce the Muslim prophet Muhammad.
The episode itself was pretty good, although it was probably one of my least favorite of this young season. It was a lot of fun seeing all the characters from the past come back. It was also funny when they kind of made fun of themselves with the joke about rehashing material from the past. All the ways that they were trying to make sure they didn’t show Muhammad was really funny, especially Muhammad in the bear costume. I’m glad that they acknowledged that they actually have shown an image of Muhammad in the episode “Super Best Friends.” I’m psyched to see the return of Mecha-Streisand.
